The Ogun state House of Assembly has postponed the inauguration of the 10th Assembly, which was initially scheduled to hold at 10 am on Tuesday, June 13. According to reports, the members-elect and their supporters had already prepared for the inauguration ceremony, with some travelling from far away constituencies to attend the event in Abeokuta. However, the Clerk of the House, Deji Adeyemo, suddenly announced the postponement of the programme, without giving any reason for the delay.

In a statement released by the Ogun Assembly Media, the holding of the First Session of the Tenth Assembly of the Ogun State Legislature has been postponed to Tuesday, 20th June, 2023. The statement added that any inconvenience caused by the postponement is regretted. The sudden postponement has left many Ogun residents wondering what could have led to the delay.

The inauguration of the 10th Assembly is a statutory event that marks the beginning of a new legislative session in the state. The postponement has left many members-elect and their supporters disappointed and frustrated, especially those who had travelled long distances to attend the ceremony. It is unclear what led to the postponement, as no reason was given for the delay.

The Ogun state House of Assembly has not released any further statement on the matter, leaving many residents to speculate on the reasons behind the sudden postponement. The members-elect and their supporters will now have to wait until Tuesday, June 20, to witness the inauguration of the 10th Assembly.
