The Secretary to the Government of the Federation has clarified that the Boards of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration & Control (NAFDAC) are exempted from the dissolution of Boards of Federal Government Parastatals and Agencies. The clarification was made in a statement released on Wednesday.

This move by the government is expected to ensure that the two agencies can continue to function effectively in their roles. The NDLEA is responsible for the control of drug trafficking and abuse in Nigeria, while NAFDAC is responsible for regulating and controlling the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, and use of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, and chemicals in Nigeria. The exemption of their Boards from dissolution will enable them to continue to carry out their duties without any disruptions.
