OLADIPUPO ADEBUTU : SMALL TOWN BUSINESS MAN AND SUCCESFUL POLITICIAN

 

Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu born 25 February 1962) is a Nigerian politician from Ogun State. In 1992, at the age of thirty, he was elected to the National Assembly and, while serving under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), represented the Remo Federal Constituency. As a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he ran for the National Assembly in 2003, 2007, and 2011 as well as the Senate in 1998 under the banner of the United National Congress Party (UNCP).

 

Lagos, Nigeria was the place of Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu’s birth on February 25, 1962. He started his primary schooling at the International Day Nursery School in Yaba in 1964. He then attended St. Saviours Primary School, Oke-Ira, Ebute-Metta, and Igbobi College, where he graduated from college in 1978 with a West African School Certificate. In Ireland, Adebutu finished his schooling, earning an Irish National Certificate in 1983 and an Irish Leaving Certificate in 1980. He graduated with an Irish National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry in 1984. In 1987,

 

Adebutu went back to Nigeria to fulfill his national service obligation in Biu, Borno State, through the National Youth Service Corps Scheme. Adebutu, who is extremely wealthy, resides in Iperu with his family and keeps all of his possessions in Ogun State, free from any evidence of financial wrongdoing. Many people view him as a small-town businessman and politician.

 

Adebutu was appointed as Commissioner II in Ogun State in 2007 and later promoted to Commissioner I. He was responsible for the Local Government Service Commission’s training and advancement of local government officers.

 

Ladi Adebutu was chosen to serve as the representative for the Remo, Shagamu, and Ikenne constituency in the 2015 general elections. He is a member of the Rural Development Committee of the House. On 3 March 2018, Oladipupo Adebutu was conferred with the chieftaincy title in Ilisan, Ogun State.
