AFCON Vice President Pinnick Optimistic About Super Eagles’ Triumph

Amaju Pinnick, Vice President of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Organising Committee, expressed confidence that the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, could secure victory in the tournament if they maintain their current level of determination and resilience. In an interview with Arise Television on Monday, Pinnick commended the team’s performance and the collaborative efforts between the Nigerian Football Federation, the president, and the minister.

 

He highlighted the players’ display of nationalism, resilience, and fighting spirit on the pitch, especially in the recent game against Cameroon. Pinnick believes that if they continue this impressive form, Nigeria has a chance to bring home the AFCON trophy, emphasizing the team’s focus on taking each game one at a time.

 

Acknowledging the AFCON committee’s commitment to total club licensing requirements, Pinnick praised the quality of pitches and the excellent organization of the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire. He mentioned President Bola Tinubu’s supportive role and thanked him for promptly signing the necessary approvals.

 

While expressing excitement about the quality of football showcased in the tournament, Pinnick emphasized the importance of concentrating on the upcoming match against Angola, acknowledging the strategic defense of the Super Eagles, recognized as one of the best in the tournament.
