52 Suspected Cultists Apprehended During Alleged Initiation Ceremony in Ogun

In a targeted operation, the Ogun State Police Command arrested 52 individuals suspected of involvement in cultism during an alleged initiation ceremony held at Simko International Hotel in Iya Abiodun, Ifo local government area. The operation was executed based on credible intelligence received by the police regarding the planned cult initiation.

 

According to SP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, the police, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ota, swiftly mobilized to the scene upon receiving the information. The suspects, believed to be members of the Supreme Buccaneers Confraternity, also known as Alora, attempted to resist arrest but were overpowered by the police.

 

Odutola stated, “Exhibits recovered from the suspects are needles, T-shirts with Alora inscriptions, three private vehicles, and 58 different phones.” The arrested individuals, including some females, were taken into custody, and further investigation revealed that the initiation was underway for new members of the cult group.

 

Among the suspects apprehended were Adigun Ayomide and Obanla Abayomi. The police spokesperson confirmed that those arrested had been charged to court, concluding the investigation into the matter.
