Governing Council of RemoGDF Meets Akarigbo

The leadership of Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF) under the Chairmanship of Otunba Seni Adetu met with the Visioner and Grand Patron of the Foundation, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, B.L, LL.M, FCA, FBR, DSC, (Torungbuwa II), Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, and Chairman, Ogun State Council of Obas on Wednesday, 13th March, 2024 at the Akarigbo’s Palace, Ita-Oba, Sagamu, Ogun State.

 

The Chairman of Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF), Otunba Seni Adetu informed the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland that the visit by the leadership of the Foundation became necessary so as to brief the Monarch on their projects, programs, initiatives and interventions, saying that the Foundation would embark on immediate intervention programs for students, youths, the women and development of Remoland.

 

Also speaking, the Foundation’s 1st Vice Chairman, Prince Wole Sowole who briefed the Royal Father about the plan for Remo Cultural Festival 2024 which will feature Exhibition of Remo Art Gallery, Dance, Drama, Play, Launch of Danceable Remo songs,added that Cultural Homage would be paid to His Royal Majesty and other Remo Royal Fathers on the grand finale which is expected to come up on Saturday, 27th December, 2024 at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, Ogun State.

Mrs Ronke Soyombo, the Head of the Education and Youth Empowerment Committee of the Foundation, also briefed the Akarigbo of Remoland about the Foundation’s educational support and intervention program called “After-Class Coaching” for Remo students in Senior Secondary Schools (III) that are preparing for the 2023/2024 May/June WAEC/SSCE examinations, adding that four different centres have been approved for the coaching classes that would come up on Fridays and Saturdays.

Mrs. Soyombo noted that the class would be starting from 15th March to 2024. The four centres are; Saapade Grammar, Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu Remo, Ilishan Community High School and Emeritus Prof. T. O Ogunlesi Model Secondary School, Mosinmi, Ogun State.

In his remarks, the Foundation’s Visioner and Grand Patron, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr. ) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland appreciated the leadership of the Foundation for coming to brief him on the various laudable and people orientated projects and initiatives for the good people of Remoland, advising the Governing Council of RemoGDF to work closely with the Community Development Associations and the Remo Traditional Council for inclusiveness and effectiveness.

The members of Governing Council of RemoGDF in attendance were; Otunba Seni Adetu, Chairman, Prince Wole Sowole, 1st Vice Chairman, (doubles as Head of Heritage & Culture), Col. Dele Oyefuga (Retd.), 2nd Vice Chairman, (doubles as Head of Security Committee), Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, (Head, Education and Youth Empowerment), Omo’ba Abiola Ogundeko, (Media & Publicity Adviser) and the Ag. General Manager (Secretariat), Prince Adekunle Victor Soile.
