Radanuwa Of Idado Installs High Chief Idowu Abiodun Safiu As Aro of Idado Kingdom

The palace of the Radanuwa of Idado witnessed a grand ceremony on the 4th day of the Lidero Festival and Celebrations, September 17, as High Chief Idowu Abiodun Safiu was installed as the Aro of Idado Kingdom.
The installment procession began, adhering to ancient traditions of the land with the Eleposho of Eposho skillfully paddling the boat of the procession for the day and ensuring the traditional procession was followed.
Before installment, His Royal Majesty, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, Radanuwa of Idado, praised Chief Safiu’s exceptional qualities, stating, “He was once my secretary. He’s our son, always active when it’s time for things of the Kngdom.” The King highlighted two key reasons for the appointment: Chief Safiu’s inheritance of his father’s (Nosi of Idado) good deeds and his exemplary service during the time of his installation as King.
“During the procession of my Kingship, he was the secretary. When it was time to sign a letter that proved difficult, he took it upon himself to see that all the letters are signed,” the King commended.
Also, in an exclusive interview with the Radanuwa of Idado, he gave some commendable remarks in favour of the newly appointed Aro of Idado saying, “He’s faithful, trustworthy and dedicated; besides by virtue of everything, he’s entitled to the position he now occupies”. The King as well, appreciated the people of Idado for their support and contribution since the start of the Lidero Festival and Celebration.
Chief Safiu was presented with symbolic items, including a crown, ministaff of authority, and necklaces, solidifying his position.
Following his declaration as Aro, Chief Safiu participated in a photo session, after which he joined in celebratory dances. In accordance with tradition, he made calculated stops at culturally significant locations to pay homage to the land’s deity before proceeding to his home to conclude the day’s festivities.
Distinguished dignitaries in attendance included Royal Fathers Eleposho of Eposho, Ayanperuwa Sotunbo, Alarinye of Arinye, Odofin Sanyindo, and many others.
