Senator Natasha Enters NASS Premises on Foot After Her Convoy Is Halted
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan gained entry into the National Assembly complex in Abuja on foot after her convoy was initially denied access on Thursday.
The senator, who is currently serving a six-month suspension imposed by the Senate, had previously declared her intention to resume legislative duties following a court ruling ordering her reinstatement. Despite the court’s verdict, security personnel at the National Assembly barred her convoy from entering the premises.
Senator Natasha, seated in a black vehicle at the time, was stopped at the gate. The vehicle ahead of hers—carrying well-known activist Aisha Yesufu—was also denied entry, raising concerns about the enforcement of her suspension despite the court directive.
Unfazed by the obstruction, Senator Natasha stepped out of her car and proceeded into the National Assembly on foot, surrounded by a number of her supporters. Her determined walk into the premises symbolized both her defiance of the Senate’s suspension and her resolve to uphold the court’s decision affirming her right to resume her role as a lawmaker.
