PUPILS FORCED TO GO BACK HOME AS BURGLARS EMPTY OGUN SCHOOL

Pupils of the Baptist Day School, Alaaguntan in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun state were turned back home by the school management on Monday as suspected burglars had invaded the school in the nights before and carted away with valuables of school property worth millions.

The school, which was built by Larfarge construction Company and equipped with modern facilities is located between Elebute and Alaaguntan areas of Ogun State, and is a three-block of classrooms accommodating many pupils from the two communities.

A teacher who spoke on terms of anonymity said,

“The hoodlums broke the school’s ceiling to gain access into the classrooms, where they carted away valuable items like, classroom chairs, tables, bells, and some documents belonging to teachers at the school, we have already reported the incident to the village head”. The Village Head of Elebute, Abdulwaheed Onigbinde, confirmed the incident to our correspondent, adding that electricity wires were also stolen by the hoodlums.

He promised to work with the Baale of aaguntan to ensure that the stolen items are recovered and students returned to classrooms. When contacted,The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the command was not yet aware of the attack.
