APC Congress Ushers in New Leadership in Sagamu LG

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sagamu Local Government of Ogun State has witnessed a transition in leadership following the conduct of its local government congress.

Speaking at the congress, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, described the exercise as a defining moment for the party, noting that leadership is ā€œturn by turnā€ but service must remain constant.

He commended the outgoing local government party executives led by Hon. Rafiu Opaleye, as well as executives across the 15 wards, for sustaining the party’s structure and maintaining its grassroots presence. According to him, their stewardship helped preserve the integrity and stability of the party within the local government.

Odulate also congratulated the newly elected local government party executives led by Hon. Rotimi Omotayo and the ward executives, charging them to see their emergence as a call to responsibility rather than a ceremonial role. He urged the new leadership to strengthen unity within the party, deepen internal democracy and consolidate its dominance at all levels.

The council chairman emphasized the need for members to put aside personal interests in favour of collective progress, stressing that the party must remain a shared priority. He called for an end to factional tendencies and encouraged the building of a disciplined and inclusive structure capable of delivering electoral victories from the ward to the federal level.
