Joshua–Fury Fight Nears Announcement as Venue Dispute Enters Crucial Stage

Negotiations for the long-awaited Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury heavyweight fight have entered a crucial stage, with Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn describing the current week as a “crunch week” for the proposed bout.

Hearn has confirmed that Joshua and Fury have signed contracts to face each other. However, the venue has yet to be officially finalised, with discussions continuing over whether the fight should be staged in the United Kingdom or the United States.

According to Hearn, Joshua’s agreement originally stipulated a UK venue. Recent negotiations have considered a possible move to New York, with Madison Square Garden emerging as the leading proposed venue.

Hearn said his team remains committed to making the fight happen and has been involved in discussions over revised terms should the bout be moved from the UK. However, no final venue or official announcement has been confirmed.
