Ogun Pushes Ahead with Ayobo–Ayetoro Road Project.

The Construction is progressing on the Ayobo–Mapol–Itele–Ayetoro Road as the Ogun State Government continues work on the key transport corridor in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
The project, being undertaken by the administration of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, has reached significant stages in drainage construction and other preliminary engineering works intended to strengthen the road and improve its durability.
At Mopol Junction, workers have completed a drainage structure measuring 1.3 metres by 1.0 metre. Construction of lined drains is continuing along the left-hand side of the road to support effective water discharge.
Work is also advancing on a box culvert at the junction. Meanwhile, crews are clearing debris and rubble from the road surface to improve movement and make space for ongoing construction activities.
The drainage infrastructure is a central part of the project. It is designed to improve water flow, reduce the risk of flooding and help protect the road from damage caused by inadequate drainage. Effective drainage is particularly important for extending the lifespan of the road and maintaining safe, reliable access for motorists and residents.
When completed, the road is expected to improve connectivity for communities along the Ayobo–Mapol–Itele–Ayetoro axis. It is also expected to ease transportation challenges and support the movement of people, goods and services within Ado-Odo/Ota and neighbouring areas.
The project forms part of the Ogun State Government’s wider road infrastructure programme, which aims to address transportation needs and improve access to communities across the state. Better road links can help residents reach essential services, while providing businesses with more dependable routes for moving goods and serving customers.
Construction activities are continuing along the corridor, with work focused on drainage and other preparatory components as the project advances. The government’s stated aim is to deliver an improved road network for residents, motorists and businesses in the area.
The Ayobo–Mapol–Itele–Ayetoro route serves communities across a growing part of Ado-Odo/Ota. Its upgrade is expected to strengthen local connections and contribute to economic and social activity once the works are completed.
