INEC Publishes 2027 Governorship Candidates as APC Faces Post-Primary Disputes
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the particulars of candidates nominated by political parties for the 2027 governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
The candidates’ details, contained in Form EC9, were displayed at INEC offices on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in line with the commission’s timetable for the 2027 general elections.
The publication includes the names and other particulars of candidates submitted by political parties for the governorship contests across the states.
The development comes amid disputes within the All Progressives Congress (APC) following its primary elections, with disagreements over candidate selection reported in some states.
The APC has also undertaken reconciliation efforts aimed at addressing grievances arising from its primary elections as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
