Operational Buses Handed Over to Police in Ifo-Ewekoro.

The Nigerian Police Force has received operational buses to support patrols and improve emergency response across the Ifo-Ewekoro Federal Constituency.

The buses were handed over at a ceremony attended by police authorities and personnel, traditional rulers, community elders, security agencies, the National Productivity Center in Abuja, and Derikbam Global Concept Ltd.

Speaking at the event, Ifo-Ewekoro Federal Constituency representative Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka said the donation demonstrated a shared commitment to public safety, community protection and faster responses to emergencies.

Isiaka said the initiative aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes practical measures to address insecurity. He noted that tackling security challenges requires cooperation between government, security agencies and citizens.

According to Isiaka, the vehicles would help police personnel travel more efficiently to duty stations, respond promptly to distress calls and incidents, and expand patrol coverage. He added that improved mobility could strengthen intelligence-led policing and reduce delays in interventions across local communities.

He thanked police officers for their service and sacrifices, acknowledging the risks they face while carrying out their duties. Addressing the officers receiving the buses, he urged them to use the vehicles strictly for operational purposes and ensure proper accountability in their custody and management.

Isiaka also encouraged police personnel to use the additional transport capacity to strengthen patrols and improve service to residents. He said professionalism and responsible use of public assets were essential to maintaining public trust.

The lawmaker called on individuals and businesses operating in the constituency to support security agencies in practical ways. He described security as a shared responsibility and urged residents to provide lawful, timely information to the authorities.

He also encouraged stakeholders to support community-based safety initiatives aimed at preventing crime, as well as responsible contributions to the logistics and welfare needs of security personnel.

Isiaka thanked the National Productivity Center, Derikbam Global Concept Ltd, the Nigerian Police Force and other stakeholders who helped make the handover possible. He expressed hope that the buses would contribute to safer communities, improved public confidence and stronger support for justice across Ifo-Ewekoro.

The ceremony concluded with a call for continued collaboration among residents, businesses and security agencies to address local safety concerns. Isiaka said the vehicles should serve the purpose for which they were provided: bringing security services closer to the people and enabling officers to respond more effectively throughout the constituency.
