Police Launch Investigation into Suspected Assassination in OGUN Hotel

A suspected assassination incident has occurred at Ok Winners Hotel in Igbosoro, Igode, Sagamu Local Government, Ogun State, resulting in the death of a hotel guest, Gideon Ebukwe. The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the incident, which occurred on Tuesday at approximately 3:30 pm.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, a group of five unidentified armed men stormed the hotel, attacking the guest in his room. The hotel staff, mostly women, were locked in another room during the attack. In an attempt to escape, Ebukwe broke through the ceiling but was chased and shot dead by the assailants, who also took his belongings.

The police were promptly notified, and the divisional police officer led detectives to the scene. Although no arrest has been made, the body was transported to Jas Medical Mortuary in Ogijo for further examination. The police have commenced an investigation to determine the nature of the crime and whether it is cult-related.

The case will be transferred to the Police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for a more discreet investigation.
