BREAKING: Former President Muhammadu Buhari is dead

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has died in a London hospital, his family confirmed on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
In a statement issued by his former spokesperson Garba Shehu, the family announced:
“INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHI RAJI’UN
The family has announced the passing of the former President, Muhammadu Buhari, this afternoon, in a clinic in London.
May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.”
Buhari, aged 82, had travelled to the United Kingdom in April for a routine medical check-up. Reports later indicated a decline in his health, leading to extended hospitalization. Earlier this month, aides stated that he was stable and responding to treatment.
Buhari served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023, following his earlier role as military head of state between 1983 and 1985.
