Samade Plaza Debuts in Grand Style as Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon Celebrates with Honorary Chieftaincy as Iya Ewe of Sotubo Kingdom
A colourful celebration filled with royalty, prayers, and cultural honour marked the grand opening of Samade Plaza and the conferment of the honorary chieftaincy title of Iya Ewe of Sotubo Kingdom on Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon.
The event, hosted by popular MCs Lekkymore and Sisi Ologe, attracted respected traditional rulers, chiefs, community leaders, market representatives, family members, and distinguished guests from within and outside Sotubo Kingdom.
The ceremony commenced with an opening prayer led by Imam Sanusi. Shortly after, the MC acknowledged the presence of several royal fathers and dignitaries seated at the high table, including Alayeluwa Oba Muyideen Oluseyi Ogunsola, soile I, Ayanperuwa of Sotubo; Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, the Radanua of Idado; Oba Sikiru Bello, the Legunsen of Ilupeju; Oba Babatunde Adekunle Odunayo, Aminishan of Oko; alongside many other monarchs and traditional leaders.
During the welcome address, Oba Muyideen Oluseyi Ogunsola warmly greeted fellow monarchs, chiefs, and invited guests. He spoke extensively about the journey of Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon, highlighting the vision, commitment, and determination that led to the establishment of Samade Plaza and the success of the celebration. He also invited one of the chiefs to offer prayers and blessings for Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon while also praying for the continued prosperity of the Radanua of Idado.
Speaking next, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, the Radanua of Idado, shared insights into how the land for the plaza was acquired. He praised Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon for her dedication and unwavering service to the community, stating that he strongly believed she was the most deserving person to own and develop the property.
The spiritual aspect of the event continued as the MC invited Alfa Sanusi to pray for Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon and the official opening of Samade Plaza. During the prayers, additional monarchs made their entrance and were warmly acknowledged by the MC, who also recognized the presence of the Iyaloja, Iya Laje, and Iyalode in attendance.
Asiwaju Dr. Olusanya Taiwo was also invited to offer prayers for Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon and the successful opening of the plaza. Subsequently, several chiefs mounted the stage to pray for the celebrant and the continued growth of Samade Plaza.
In her speech, Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon expressed gratitude to God, family members, traditional rulers, chiefs, and supporters who stood by her throughout the journey. She spoke passionately about hard work, perseverance, and the importance of community support in achieving success. Her husband was also called upon to deliver his remarks, during which he appreciated guests for their presence and support. Representatives of the “Egbe Oloja,” on behalf of the Iyaloja Kajola Sotubo and Iya Egbe Oja Sotubo, also offered heartfelt prayers for Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon.
One of the major highlights of the event was the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for Samade Plaza, performed by the Obas, chiefs, and notable guests in attendance. Following the ceremony, the royal fathers, chiefs, and guests were led into the plaza by Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon and her husband for an inspection of the newly commissioned facility.
The celebration continued with the conferment ceremony of Chief Mrs Oladapo Sulaimon as the Iya Ewe of Sotubo Kingdom. A revered position symbolizing maternal authority, respect within the cultural hierarchy and her immense contribution to fostering quality child education within communities in Remoland. The ceremony was characterized by a blend of solemnity and festivity, reflecting the deep cultural values and unity of the kingdom.

After these formalities, Chief Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon, accompanied by her husband, was invited to join the high table for the installation process as Iya Ewe and Baba Ewe of Sotubo. This act symbolized their elevated status within the community and the respect accorded to them.
Several chiefs were later called upon to pray for the couple and bless their new phase of success.
