Tribute Pours in as Community Gathers to Celebrate the Life of Olori Dorcas Falilat Awofala

A grand ceremony was held on 21 December at St. Paul’s Church, Ijokun, to celebrate the life and legacy of Olori Dorcas Falilat Awofala Nee Omobowale, a respected matriarch and pillar of the community. The event, which was attended by a large crowd of mourners from across Ogun State, was a testament to the impact she had on the lives of those who knew her.

She passed away on Monday, April 24th, 2023, at the ripe age of 87, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, kindness, and generosity. The ceremony was an opportunity for family, friends, and well-wishers to come together and pay tribute to her memory.

The ceremony, which began with a church service, was officiated by the clergy of Mountain of Fire and Ministries, Ijebu Ode. The service was attended by family members, friends, and well-wishers from various parts of Ogun State, including Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, Abeokuta, and other neighboring towns.

In attendance were members of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries’ Children’s Fellowship (MFMCF) State and National Executives, brethren from MFM Idomila Ilaro, and old students of the Regional School of Science (RSS). Also present were dignitaries from across the state, including traditional ruler(s), community leaders and members. They all came to pay their respects to the deceased and to offer their condolences to the bereaved family.

In his sermon, the officiating minister praised Olori Awofala’s exemplary life, highlighting her dedication to her family, her community, and her faith. He urged the mourners to take a cue from her selfless life and to strive to make a positive impact in their own communities.

After the church service, the mourners proceeded to a reception venue, where they gathered to celebrate Olori Awofala’s life and share fond memories of her. The reception was a time for family and friends to come together, console one another, and pay their final respects to the deceased. It was also an opportunity for them to reflect on the impact Olori Awofala had on their lives and to give thanks for the time they had with her.

The reception was filled with music and laughter, as guests enjoyed a variety of dishes and refreshments. The atmosphere was lively, with many taking to the dance floor to celebrate Olori Awofala’s life. As the afternoon wore on, the music continued to play, and the food and drinks kept flowing.

However, as the day drew to a close, the guests began to say their goodbyes, and the crowd slowly started to disperse. One by one, the mourners departed, each carrying with them memories of Olori Awofala’s life and legacy.
