IBEDC Apologises Over Power Supply Shortfalls in Ogun, Oyo, Kwara

IBEDC Apologises Over Power Supply Shortfalls in Ogun, Oyo, Kwara

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has apologised to Band A customers in parts of Ogun, Oyo and Kwara states after several feeders failed to meet their required daily electricity supply hours.

The development followed supply disruptions recorded on Monday, September 7, with some affected feeders recording significantly reduced supply or no electricity during the period.

IBEDC attributed the shortfalls to a combination of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) load shedding and forced outages, faults on its distribution network, overcurrent and earth faults, as well as disconnections linked to unpaid electricity bills.

In Ogun, affected feeders included those serving areas around Ilaro, Papalanto, Ijagba, Ogunmakin/Ajebo and other locations. The company said most of the affected feeders had been restored, while some remained out due to operational issues and disconnections.

IBEDC assured customers that it remained committed to meeting the required supply hours and improving electricity service across its franchise.
