The Ilisan Development Association has successfully conducted a 6-week vocational training program for youths and students in Ilisan. The training, held at the Ilisan Town Hall, served as a precursor to the 2024 Isanbi Day celebrations.
The program witnessed a large turnout of enthusiastic young participants, who engaged in various vocational skills, including baking, hairdressing, shoe making, tailoring, and gele tying, among others.
Mrs. Oluwabunmi Onabajo, chief tutor for the catering section, expressed her excitement about the impressive attendance. “This is an opportunity for us to keep them busy, and significantly, this is part of the activities that build up to the 2024 Isanbi Day. In my class, I have more than 30 students who are willing to learn something new and remain useful.”
In addition to the vocational training, the event featured indoor sporting activities like Ludo, draft, and table tennis. Apostle John Oluwarotimi, Chairman of the Sports Sub-Committee for Isanbi Day 2024, noted that these activities are a long-standing tradition and an integral part of the preparations for the 2024 Isanbi Day.
To encourage the trainees, the association offered support for those interested in furthering their training, providing financial and material assistance.
